COVID-19 Statements

COVID-19 Statement 3.13.20

United Track Families,

We are currently reviewing our options for the remainder of the season and these will evolve based upon decisions made by state and local public health agencies as well as area school districts.  Those decisions will be communicated to the club as soon as possible.

We do however understand families are considering how to keep athletes active and healthy during this time.  We encourage your athletes remain active if possible, and will be providing non-mandatory suggested sample workouts early next week. If your athlete chooses to participate in these suggested workouts and/or other workouts, we suggest you maintain adherence to the latest recommendations presented by state and local officials and the CDC.

In summary, this memo is being provided to meet the request of some UTC parents.  We suggest and encourage best practices as outlined and regularly updated by the CDC and public health agencies. Per our last communication, no official or unofficial practices will take place during this time.

See state public health website for guidance documents and CDC recommendations.

Stay healthy and we hope to see you soon on the track.

COVID-19 Statement 3.12.20

Dear United Track Families,

Due to the gravity of the current situation with COVID-19 we are canceling our track meet scheduled on 3/14.  We are also postponing all club activities through March 20th when we will re-evaluate the situation, however the likelihood is for a longer postponement. We are following the lead of our local school districts, recommendations from the Governor's Office, and local and state public health departments.

Stay healthy and safe during these unprecedented times.  We will remain in contact.

COVID-19 Statement 3.11.20

To our UTC Parents and Athletes,

There is no higher priority to our entire United Track Club family than the health and safety of our athletes, coaches and volunteers.  We are closely monitoring both state and local public health departments recommendations relevant for sporting activities as they pertain to the spread of COVID-19.  We are also monitoring local school districts responses to stay on top of this evolving situation. According to the most recent information from the CDC and public health departments, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus remains low for most people. For now we will continue with our regularly scheduled activities.

We will however be taking precautions to have disinfecting products available as directed by the CDC and public health departments for everyone’s health and safety.  These will be available particularly in high traffic areas and/or surfaces during our events and activities. Additionally and most importantly, we encourage everyone to follow the CDC best practices for preventing the spread of infectious diseases. This includes thorough hand washing, avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, and as it pertains to our activities, keeping your athletes at home if they are ill.  This also goes for our coaches and volunteer staff who should refrain from participation if ill and not return until fully recovered.

We also want to take a moment to remind parents that participation at any club sanctioned event is ultimately your decision and if you feel unsafe or unsure, please err on the side of caution.  We will remain in close communication if there are any immediate changes to our current operating status.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
